What are the various forms of material or financial damage?
Material or financial damage includes all offences that affect the property belonging to an employer or its employees. Theft, fraud, vandalism and even computer sabotage are all part of material or financial damage in the workplace. Also included is abuse of power with regard to employee earnings or profit sharing among company managers.
Material or financial damage can be overt or subtle. It can comprise some or all of the following:
Relationship between aggressor and victim
Abuse
Attack on someone’s integrity and security
Work environment deterioration
Employment in jeopardy
Economic distress
The main forms of material or financial damage in the workplace are theft, fraud and vandalism.
